Losing someone we love is an ache that words can hardly capture. It’s a hollow space that echoes with their laughter, their voice, and the memories they left behind. When someone so vibrant and essential to our lives is suddenly gone, we find ourselves holding on tightly to the moments – the joy, the arguments, the lessons, and the love – that made them unforgettable. This poem is a tribute to that kind of loss, honouring the beautiful chaos and unwavering support that a cherished loved one brings into our lives. It’s a reminder that though they may be gone, the bond remains unbreakable, and their spirit continues to live on in the stories we tell, the habits we keep, and the love we carry forward.

Too Soon, Too Sudden

We speak fondly of you everyday
And we remember all the good times
The movies, the monopoly at Christmas
The food, the pranks and the beach limes

You were a burst of energy
And your personality filled the room
Life will never be the same without you
You’ve left us way too soon

You always answered without hesitation
Each time we called on you
The laughs, the lectures, the arguments
We’d always look forward to

You were a source of strength
And each role you held with pride
It’s hard to imagine life now
Without you there at the side

Our hearts are broken by your loss
And we wish you could stay
We want to talk to you again
Just like we did everyday

Your passing has taught us a lesson
That we will always remember
Hold on to those closest to you
Because you are stronger together
